I don’t think you know the whole story or history of what has being going on between the U. S Mint and it’s customers. Maybe you should do a little more reading and research on this. It’s not like this just here on this blog but on many others and in many coin magazines also.

Because coin collectors can’t buy the coins to complete their collections.
yet the mint sells to dealers in bulk before the official release date, allowing them to exhaust supply, and manipulate the market due to supply and demand forces. People panic, and drive the price up. FOMO baby.

I just bought two ASE 2021-W coins for nearly double the release price off eBay (As I live in Australia, I have to pay duties via ebay, yet if I could have bought directly from the US Mint I wouldn’t). So I get punished financially, even though I was there at 3am my time, smashing the refresh button when the coins were initially released.

Ticketek worked out how to release high demand items on the Internet 20 years ago (hint: restrict the number of people at a time via a queue, and limit the amount you can buy).
In fact, The Royal Mint (U.K.) employs a similar tactic for their limited release coins. You sit in the queue, it lets you know how many people are in front of you, and approximate time till you can get in. Once in, you get 10 minutes to make your purchase. This allows you to fill your cart, browse for other items, select the most economical postage etc, then checkout without any stress. It’s brilliant.

long story short, if the US Mint is anything like the Australian Mint, the mint makes money by selling collectables, not by selling currency. They seem happy to kill their own life blood.

Some of these comments “we are treated so badly by the mint”… give me a break!

…that MikeM or one of his kind picked up the phone and was granted access.

Many have tried for weeks with little success, that 4,000+ were reported sold last week would only further indict the USM of complicity in fraud.

Lol.
A certified, licenced forensic accountant would have a field day with the Mint’s accounting system for sure!
(Hint: A great Ph.D. candidate thesis for a university student who wants to study the figures from 1792-2021 from an historical perspective).
