Mike,
I’m pretty sure the Mint has put out an advisory to the effect that there is no guarantee as to which side of the coin is going to be showing at the end of any given roll due to fact that all the packaging is being done by machines. I guess machines can be stupid.

That’s a bit of a surprise. I thought the flippers were still getting well over $100 per 3 Roll Set but I guess those glory days are over.

as predicted – current 3 roll sets selling for around $75 (plus $10 shipping) on the bidding. I don’t think those that are asking are getting the $100 – $120 or more that they want. definitely a glut. about 190 3 roll sets being offered on EBAY I see the next issue in the 3 roll set gets ‘sold out’ and then suddenly 3 rolls available and then sell out again.

I appreciate all the pertinent thoughts and the helpful suggestions regarding the issue of the unavailability of coin rolls at local banks, Caliskier, and I love the expression on the bank teller’s face above. I’m guessing that was because you just happened to catch him on a good day! But when you make the mistake of going back and asking one too many times…

President Carter’s term in office spanned my 30th to 34th years and coincided with the births of both of my children. Also, body surfing was fun!

At least you didn’t mention what most and myself typically experience! We get the consistent no, in addition to, this as well! You’d think that the teller had just ingested a “bitterly” cold, frosty, tall one?

With what I’ve read and watched, apparently if a collector; numismatist, accumulator, hoarder, wants rolls, they have to be willing to go to multiple banks in your quest. Another suggestion I’ve heard is to have or open a business account: I’m not sure what’s required for that?

That leads me to another suggestion. Perhaps if none of the above are applicable, one might have a friend, with a small business banking account that may require cash for daily transactions? If so you could try and see if they’d be willing to help you out with the hookup.

Mike, I know it’s not Texas Tea/Sweet Crude, however is that box of “gold” you found in the garage, perhaps “Black”? Asking for a friend? LOL

Thanks guys for all the “takes” and views on President Carter. He served, while I was between the ages of 8 & 12 y/o. So I was too distracted by my youth, baseball and what seemed like “Endless Summers”. I grew up inland so my “Endless Summers” were filled with excessive heat and dust, versus what many envision as an “Endless Summer”? Bikini’s and “tasty” waves! Haha Then came “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” and D.A.R.E/Nancy Reagan era….Dang, then there was “Animal House” (1978) Impressionable years. Hmmm which type of influences at that time and age were of greater influence over time…. Doh! “FOOD Fight!”

Props to all who post here on this site!
