Every time I heard hawas talk about this tomb wasn’t intact, it was raided by tomb robbers. We are surprised tuts tomb wasn’t hit by tomb raiders and grave robbers.

Stay with me now. What if. Still here? What if those pyramids were discovered again 1,000 years ago and they put all the treasure in a different museum(making it appear the grave was robbed, when in fact it was preserved) and the location of the museum has been lost or slid into an ocean or volcano.

Also at those depths is a lack of oxygen which prevents many organisms from forming. Depending on salt levels makes a difference too. I don’t think the titanic has a chance of long term survival unless they can bring it up in a tank full of foam or something. I believe there is also no radiation to further break down material. Something like after 40 feet you don’t see red in the spectrum.

I would be afraid of insurance company coming after me if I did buy it. I hear about finders keepers laws, but they don’t always pan out. I think one said they paid a claim for a sunken ship hundreds of years ago. Someone found the wreck and gold. But the courts awarded to the insurer. I get they paid for the lost cargo to owners, but the insurers were gambling. Hoping for free money for a ship or goods that don’t sink. Same for robbery or theft. They pay out the insurance whatever it covers without ever expecting to see it again. But yet many years later can collect items Someone else found with their own money. Either dredging, or treasure hunting, or wreck diving. The biggest rip off is Oak Island. Those guys own 97% of that island and can’t do squat. The government kept changing laws and regs and adding environmental challenges and rules. Haven’t seen the last 4 or 5 seasons, but I’d bet if they did find thr hoard, it’d be seized and after a lengthy and expensive court battle may or may not get some or all of it back.

So if ya ever find an old gold coin in the sand and it even looks like an old shipwreck or a piece of a ship is nearby, ya better slip it in your pocket and melt it when you get home. What coin.

I was wondering about that myself, East Coast Guru. Perhaps the unique combination of complete darkness, intense cold and massive pressure are enough to achieve that.

Amazing that a bank note was recovered that could be conserved to a condition as shown in the picture. Outstanding work! Can’t afford any of this stuff, but fun to look at.
