Actually, I didn’t mean that literally, Antonio, I was just hearkening back to the old expression “The sun never sets on the British Empire” (because it spanned all time zones). Just sayin’.

Common Wealth of Nations. There is no more British Empire, or Spanish Empire, or French Empire, or Portuguese Empire, or Dutch Empire, or……

Exactly, Antonio, and for Australia, New Zealand and quite a few more Commonwealth Nations. On that note, it seems there is a trend these days for these nations to one by one depart from the practice of having the British Monarch on their coins and currency. It could be that after all these centuries the sun is finally setting on the British Empire.

Will look forward to see what image is decided for next year’s coins for UK and Canada.
